Mojave National Preserve is located a between Los Angeles and Las Vegas and preserves volcanic formations, mountains, dunes and caverns. It is an incredibly diverse place which has large difference in rainfall and elevation in the park's differing ecosystems.See more pictures of the sparsely settled area here.
